So you want to register for ChrisCam. This will give you access to the super-secret special places of the website.
What are they? Well it wouldn't be super-secret if I told you BEFORE you signed up, would it?
Let's just say that registering for ChrisCam makes you my target demographic. In media-speak, this would make you a P1.
See in broadcast industry lingo, a P1 is a person who fits into a desired demographic. So if a radio station's desired
demographic is 25-35 year old men and you are a 34 year old male, you are a P1.
At ChrisCam, there is no target demographic. Basically anyone who reads and nods in agreement at least once is a P1 for me.
But instead of just ripping off the term P1, I'm modifying it to be C1. See how original I am? It's stunning.
What's a C1?
- A C1 is a ChrisCam reader who comes back enough to want more.
- A C1 is registered and will occaisionally get vastly informative updates from me.
- A C1 is allowed to comment on posts.
- Some C1's will be selected to be guest bloggers.
- C1's get access to the ChrisCam photo gallery, so ironically called CameraShy.
- C1's get access to special little goodies like the Looney Bin and the Hall of Heroes.
- C1's gain my respect and are valued members of the community.
- And I'm sure I'll add other crap as I find time.
Your C1 name is used for nothing at this point except that I think it's cool (maybe you could
use it when you comment on posts). The format is C1-yournickname. For example, I'm C1-ctiberius.
It's totally meaningless, but it makes you special. Trust me, being a C1 is a coveted thing.
